4 ways that technology makes your health worse

Technology can give people many practical benefits, but medical experts recommended that this was also the cause of many diseases such as persistent migraine, nausea, sensitivity to light.

Dr. Audrey Halpern, a leading specialist in neuroscience has given some evidence of how technological products can make people feel a headache or prolonged stress.

1. Staring at digital screen

Staring at the screen of the technological equipment such as phones, laptops is no longer a strange story with the people today. Consequently, many people feel a headache after a day of work.

The study showed that 60% of Americans spent at least six hours a day to look at the screen, this would lead to eyestrain and of course people felt headache. Dr. Audrey Halpern recommends everyone should have the interim period away from the computer screen during the working day (maybe 30 minutes) and should equip the screen with opaque glass.

2. Stretching neck due to looking down the screen of mobile phone

Not hard to catch images of people focusing on looking down phone screen at any time: when moving on the road, waiting in the station, studying, working... and this causes stiffness in the neck muscles, one of the causes of migraine. Dr. Halpern said the relationship between neck muscle tension and migraine was very complicated.

Halpern suggested people should adjust work state, simply not looking down the phone constantly, changing posture...

3. Continuous Disruptions

Message, email, call notifications... always interrupt our activities daily. This shows that the stress and pressure at work are increasingly larger.

Not only can go crazy with the disturbance of the signals from the device technology, you also have to face the risk of headaches and muscle tension often. It is hard to completely turn off your phone or tablet, including before bedtime so you can choose the solution such as yoga, meditation... to give yourself the peace of mind, reduce stress due to work and technology appliances.

4. Light from phones adversely affects sleep

Using phone before sleep will make you difficult to get deep sleep, even could not sleep because the phone light irritates the nerve cells. A not good sleep will lead to a long and stressful working day.

Also, the light from other electronic devices such as laptops, televisions can also keep you awake at night. Ideally, leave all electronic devices out of the room before going to bed.
